Ngaio Nobumoto is a pilot, live sound engineer, and photographer based in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Raised between California and Las Vegas in a family of artists, Ngaio developed a passion for music at an early age. He plays piano, guitar, bass, and sings, releasing music under the name pinkcyan.
He began exploring photography at 14 and started working professionally by 16. His visual work blends cinematic tones with modern elegance, often described as atmospheric and emotionally rich.
Ngaio’s aviation journey began at age 21. In 2019, he joined the newly established Vegas Aviation as one of its first flight instructors. Over time, he rose to become Chief Flight Instructor, helping shape the school’s programs and mentoring dozens of aspiring pilots. After several years of instruction, he became a First Officer at SkyWest Airlines before moving on to his current role at a major U.S. airline.
He remains deeply engaged in the aviation community. Ngaio continues to instruct as an Airbus A320 simulator instructor at PlaneSym, a 14 CFR Part 142 training center. He also volunteers with the FAA Safety Team as a FAA Safety Team Representative and serves on the National Events Team for Latino Professionals in Aerospace, supporting outreach, mentorship, and diversity in aviation.
In live production, Ngaio has extensive experience as a house engineer, providing front-of-house, monitor mixing, and tour support for artists including Highly Suspect, P.O.D., The Midnight, Slothrust, Meg & Dia, Real Estate, DIIV, Girlpool, The Dodos, and others. Whether mixing directly or supporting touring crews, he ensures seamless, high-quality experiences at venues of all sizes. He has also engineered numerous corporate events ranging from mid-size conferences to large-scale productions.
Ngaio holds an Associate of Applied Science in Paralegal Studies from the College of Southern Nevada (2017) and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (2019), making the Dean’s List at both institutions.
